Process Mining
Understand how Meridian discovers and analyzes your business processes.
Process mining is a family of techniques that extract process knowledge from event logs — the digital traces left by your operational systems. Meridian uses process mining to give you a ground-truth view of how your processes actually run, rather than how you think they run.
Event logs
An event log is a collection of events, where each event records: a case ID (which process instance this belongs to), an activity name (what happened), a timestamp, and optional attributes.
Process discovery
Meridian's discovery algorithm analyzes your event log and constructs a process model that represents the actual flow of activities — including all variants, loops, and parallel paths. This is your 'as-is' process.
Process variants
A variant is a unique sequence of activities observed in your log. Most processes have a 'happy path' (the most common variant) and a long tail of exception variants. Variant analysis helps you understand where most of your cases go, and where they deviate.
